Makeup Artistry

Makeup that has to survive a wedding day or a four-hour shoot is built differently from makeup for dinner. It is prepped harder, layered thinner, and set in stages, because the failure mode is not the first hour, it is the fifth.
Everything starts with skin. Prep is matched to your skin type rather than applied as a single routine, because the reason foundation separates by the afternoon is almost always what happened underneath it.
For anything photographed, we account for how the camera reads product. Flash finds heavy powder and reflective particles that look fine in a mirror, so finish is chosen against the lighting you will actually be in.
What's included
- Skin prep matched to your skin type and the length of the day
- Colour matched in natural light, not under a ring light
- Application built for the lighting you will be in
- Setting in stages so the look holds through the event
- Lashes where the look calls for them
How the appointment runs
- 1
Prep
Cleanse, hydrate and prime for your skin type. Oily, dry and combination skin each need a different base if the makeup is going to last.
- 2
Base and match
Foundation and concealer matched in natural light and built in thin layers, so coverage comes from layering rather than from one heavy pass.
- 3
Structure and colour
Eyes, cheeks and lips built to suit your features and the occasion, whether that is soft glam or something fuller for the camera.
- 4
Set and finish
Set in stages and finished so the look survives heat, hugs and a long day rather than just the drive there.
Where we braid
Based in McDonough, with mobile service across Henry, Clayton and Fayette counties.
Questions about makeup artistry
Do you offer bridal trials?
Trials are recommended for weddings so the look is settled before the day itself, and so we can see how your skin wears it over several hours. Mention your date when you enquire and we will talk through timing.
How long does an application take?
It depends on the look and whether lashes are included. Special occasion and soft glam sit at the shorter end, and bridal takes longer because of the trial and the prep involved.
Should I book makeup for photos differently?
Yes. Tell us it is for photography when you book. Flash and studio lighting change which finishes work, and knowing in advance changes the products used.
Can you work with sensitive skin?
Tell us about sensitivities, allergies or reactions when you book so products can be selected accordingly, and so anything new can be patch tested rather than tried for the first time on the day.
